| Or black painted aluminum? I just got my new Miller plasma cutter and it cuts VERY clean. I also got an attachment, with small wheels to allow very smooth, un-interupted cuts. Been planning on making one of these but have been thinking of using a thin sheet of 304 or 316 SS. Maybe somthing along the lines of 16-18gauge. The only problem would be polishing it.. Polishing SS is tough because the metal is so hard. But once you get it polished, It'll look nice pretty much forever if you keep it clean and do a light re-polish on it once in a while, but nothign near the "up-keep" of aluminum. I guess I can look around, I'm sure there are pre-polished sheets of SS.. Just like some piping I looked at for doing my 2.5" intercooler piping.. SS was offered in fully polished sections.
NO, This picture is not photoshopped. It took many times to take this picture. Setting up the timer, shutter speed etc, then jumping on my bike and getting the tire to spin.
